I was born with poetry, or poetry was born in me, or rather, it was in me from birth. Perhaps it has been polished, cracked, and redone, but not feigned. What is alive is alive and that’s it. I was born with something that I haven’t invested much effort to make flourish. It is not a sacrifice, it does not overwhelm me, it does not come out with labor pain. Poetry runs through me and it’s already out, it slides easily onto my pen. That is why I return it to the world, I give freely what I received freely. But I have always liked what carries merit, a contribution that is not so easily granted, giving back to the world something that costs me. I believe in the value of what is achieved with determination and resilience. I believe in applauding virtues that are built and not inherited. That’s the reason behind History, that’s the reason behind Science.
